About the role

  • Applied AI Engineer building reliable agent workflows and human-AI interfaces for Cohere’s North enterprise AI platform. Improving evaluations, observability, prompting, and model-assisted automations using production feedback.

Responsibilities

  • Build AI-powered product experiences that help users create, configure, evaluate, and improve workflows across North
  • Design and ship interfaces for interacting with models, including workflow builders, proactive assistants, review flows, and human-AI collaboration patterns
  • Build evaluation, observability, and feedback systems to measure AI experiences in enterprise workflows
  • Improve AI reliability through product design, prompting, context construction, tool-use strategies, instrumentation, and feedback loops
  • Turn production failures, user feedback, and real-task data into improved product behavior, evaluation suites, regression tests, and modelling signals
  • Collaborate with modelling, product, design, customer teams, and domain experts to define workflow quality and ship measurable improvements
  • Determine whether workflows need constrained product experiences, improved model interfaces, stronger evaluations, or deeper modelling investment

Requirements

  • Shipped LLM-powered, agent-powered, or AI-assisted product experiences into production
  • Strong software engineering skills across backend systems, user-facing products, data, evaluations, and model behavior
  • Ability to focus on user outcomes and system behavior, not only model metrics
  • Strong product judgment regarding interfaces, workflows, and model interaction
  • Ability to debug messy real-world failures and turn production, user-testing, and evaluation insights into durable improvements
  • Ability to own ambiguous problems end-to-end and work across system boundaries
  • Ability to work during core collaboration hours, approximately 9am–12pm Eastern / 3pm–6pm Central European Time, every working day
  • Legal right to work in the country of employment without visa sponsorship
