About the role
- QA Automation Engineer Co-op assisting in product quality maintenance for a SaaS platform that empowers branded merch distributors. Testing features to ensure a low-defect experience for customers.
Responsibilities
- Assist in designing and documenting test plans and test cases for new and existing features based on requirements and specifications.
- Execute manual, exploratory, system, functional, integration, regression, and smoke testing under the guidance of senior QA team members.
- Document and report bugs, failures, and test results clearly and consistently, while supporting the investigation and re-testing of defects.
- Learn and contribute to automated test scripts as opportunities arise.
- Collaborate with developers and designers to understand features, flag potential issues, and help ensure the team meets acceptance criteria and QA standards.
- Communicate testing status and findings to the team regularly to help support a positive customer experience.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Practical experience or coursework involving database-driven web application testing and software version control systems (Git).
- Exposure to or hands-on experience with TypeScript and integration test frameworks such as Playwright or Selenium.
- A collaborative approach to software quality with excellent communication skills.
- An innovative mindset with the ability to learn new technologies quickly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple overlapping priorities effectively.
- Comfort working independently and asynchronously, while also prioritizing collaboration and connection with people.
- Experience (or excitement for) working with AI
