About the role
- Senior Manual QA Engineer testing InvestEngine’s ETF investment platform, pensions features, APIs, and backend data. Improving QA processes for a global, fully remote fintech team.
Responsibilities
- Manually test frontend and backend features
- Collaborate with developers and marketers to clarify requirements
- Identify gaps, propose improvements, and help evolve QA processes
- Perform basic API testing using Postman
- Write and run simple SQL queries to validate data
- Use proxy tools for deeper request/response validation
- Support regression testing in mobile apps when needed
- Collaborate with engineers, product managers, marketers, and external partners
- Take ownership of building high-quality, resilient features across the Pensions team
- Participate in an async-first, cross-functional working environment
Requirements
- 3+ years of manual QA experience focused on web applications
- Solid knowledge of test design techniques
- Hands-on experience testing APIs and working with Postman
- Technical literacy in HTML/CSS, client-server architecture, and basic debugging
- Ability to write SQL queries to validate backend logic
- Confident use of proxy tools such as Charles or Fiddler
- Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
- Self-driven, organized, and comfortable working without micromanagement
- Clear communication and effective collaboration with technical and non-technical teams
- Experience testing mobile apps on Android/iOS is nice to have
- Interest in building or improving QA workflows and processes is nice to have
- Familiarity with automation tools or AI-assisted testing is a plus
- Previous experience in product-first companies or marketing-driven environments is nice to have
