About the role
- Application Support Engineer supporting cryptocurrency trading systems and production environments. Handling incidents, releases, monitoring, automation, and L2/L3 technical support for global business users.
Responsibilities
- Provide L2/L3 support for the firm’s cryptocurrency trading business
- Provide technical support to Sales, business users, institutional customers, and retail customers, focusing on application support, API support, and network connectivity
- Identify and resolve production incidents with end-to-end ownership
- Collaborate with technical and business support teams and escalate and resolve incidents in a timely manner
- Own release activities, participate in audit reviews, and execute business continuity planning exercises
- Ensure process management meets ITIL best-practice standards, SLAs, and client expectations
- Monitor and automate application and infrastructure alerts to maintain system stability and uptime
- Maintain knowledge repositories and standard operating procedure documentation
- Identify improvements, optimize processes, automate manual tasks, and improve service levels
Requirements
- 2+ years of production support experience, preferably within the Banking or Financial Service industry
- Experience with UNIX commands for debugging, SQL, and Bash/Python scripting
- Previous experience supporting FIX protocol and APIs is required
- Strong technical understanding of Linux/Java-based systems
- Exposure to Cloud Technology and DevOps utilities
- Knowledge of monitoring, visualization, and scheduling tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, Control-M, ITRS Geneos, Dynatrace, or similar utilities
- Service-oriented with strong incident handling and troubleshooting skills
- ITIL certification preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Experience supporting Trading Systems (OMS/EMS) with exposure to Equities, Derivatives, FX, or Cryptocurrency Trading domains
- Ability to work under high pressure, handle multiple priorities, meet demanding deadlines, and maintain attention to detail
- Self-starter able to quickly learn new concepts, business areas, and technologies
- Open to shift work and weekend support
