About the role

  • Email & SMS Specialist owning lifecycle campaigns for Sur La Table, a culinary retail and e-commerce brand. Driving segmentation, testing, AI workflow improvements, and measurable customer engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle of email and SMS campaigns, from calendaring and creative build through testing, deployment, and performance analysis
  • Lead campaign creation including template creation, image slicing, creative placement, audience selection, QA, and deployment
  • Partner with Brand Marketing, Creative, Merchandising, and Analytics/CRM teams on campaign execution and strategy
  • Build and maintain the monthly email and SMS calendar
  • Manage daily quality assurance with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on open rates, click-through rates, conversions, and trends
  • Design and execute A/B tests on subject lines, copy, send times, and creative
  • Lead adoption of AI tools for copy drafting, segmentation, QA, and reporting
  • Pilot new tools to scale campaign workflows during high-volume periods while preserving brand voice
  • Integrate customer insights and deepen audience segmentation expertise
  • Ensure compliance with CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR, and other applicable regulations
  • Stay current on email and SMS marketing trends, tools, and best practices
  • Drive process improvements across teams
  • Establish campaign calendar ownership, A/B testing cadences, and at least one AI-powered process within the first six months

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of hands-on email marketing experience
  • Proven experience using generative AI tools or AI features within email/SMS platforms to improve productivity and results
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to translate campaign data into actionable recommendations
  • Familiarity with email marketing regulations (CAN-SPAM, CASL, GDPR)
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously
  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment, paired with sound judgment about where human review and brand voice matter most
  • Employment is contingent on a background check, including verification of prior employment dates
