About the role
- Senior Software Engineer building Python backend services and LLM features for Daloopa’s AI-powered financial data platform. Improving reliability, observability, and accuracy for investment research workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable backend APIs and services using Python, Django, and FastAPI for enterprise customers
- Build LLM pipelines, write evaluations, and iterate on prompting strategies and model outputs to improve quality and reliability
- Implement LLM observability, monitoring, and evaluation systems to track model performance, latency, and cost
- Design efficient and scalable database schemas, optimize SQL queries, and maintain data integrity at scale
- Collaborate with product, frontend, and data/AI teams to translate requirements into well-architected technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to high coding standards and best practices
- Build systems and AI-powered features that are reliable, accurate, trusted by customers, and improved over time
- Challenge assumptions, tighten requirements, and turn ambiguous problems into durable solutions
- Act as a thought partner and reviewer for teammates
- Engage with executives and clients, work through implementation processes, and turn ideas into solutions
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Python
- Experience with Django
- Hands-on production experience with LLMs, including building pipelines, writing evaluations, and improving model outputs
- Experience with distributed systems, caching, and asynchronous task queues such as Celery or equivalent
- Solid understanding of RESTful and/or GraphQL API design and development
- Ability to break down and drive complex technical problems to completion
- Clear, direct communication and strong ownership of work outcomes
- Genuine interest in financial data and supervised learning systems
- Experience at high-growth, product-focused technology companies, owning production systems and working across teams
- Ability to engage with executives and clients in a visionary way
- Ability to work through implementation processes and in an ambiguous environment
- Bonus: background in fintech, financial data, or domains where data quality and audit trails are mission-critical
- Bonus: familiarity with 10-Ks, 10-Qs, transcripts, segment reporting, and non-GAAP reconciliations
