About the role

  • Legal compliance analyst designing regulatory frameworks for Desjardins, North America's largest cooperative financial group. Analyzing risks, advising stakeholders, and developing compliance recommendations and action plans.

Responsibilities

  • Design, institute and coordinate the legal and regulatory compliance framework
  • Enforce related rules and help ensure officer and employee behaviours comply with organizational standards
  • Analyze and diagnose issues, provide discipline-specific advice, and develop recommendations and implementation plans
  • Develop tools, methods and processes
  • Identify, input, analyze and interpret data to inform management decision-making and monitor management policies and practices
  • Conduct research, studies and analysis to update recommendations and monitor business line activities
  • Analyze risks and write reports
  • Prepare recommendations and provide advice on implementation
  • Help prepare and propose action plans to address issues in accordance with rules and parameters
  • Support unit activities and initiatives that balance business needs, requirements and best practices
  • Help practitioners interpret and implement compliance programs, policies, standards and procedures
  • Interact with stakeholders in other fields and provide discipline-specific support to the unit, clients and partners

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of two years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Ability to identify, analyze and interpret data
  • Ability to conduct research, studies and analysis
  • Ability to analyze risks and write reports
  • Knowledge of compliance programs, policies, standards and procedures
  • Extensive knowledge of the line of work and business line
  • Analytical skills and ability to manage complexity
