About the role
- Senior Data Governance Advisor at Desjardins, a financial services cooperative. Leading data governance standards, controls, compliance, and strategic initiatives for members and clients.
Responsibilities
- Help data producers and users understand how to valorize data for the benefit of members and clients, in keeping with sound data governance
- Serve as a specialist advisor to teams in developing and applying data management processes and controls
- Develop, operationalize and improve standards, processes, tools and best practices related to data governance foundations
- Coordinate identification of the sector's data governance needs and opportunities
- Help the sector analyze risks and potential gaps between governance documents and operational practices
- Oversee development and implementation of practices and mechanisms ensuring compliance with governance documents applying to data
- Coordinate, monitor, measure and communicate performance of standards and practices, including changes in data governance maturity
- Lead projects related to development of data governance
- Serve as a subject matter expert, resource person and coach for stakeholders and decision-making bodies
- Interact with stakeholders across fields to understand and communicate issues and influence decision making
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of six years of relevant experience
- Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Knowledge of French is required
- Intermediate knowledge of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
