About the role

  • Senior security advisor strengthening Desjardins's cooperative financial security posture. Leading strategic security initiatives, governance, policies and complex organization-wide projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize security measures aligned with corporate objectives
  • Plan, implement and oversee best practices to strengthen Desjardins's security posture
  • Help develop the Desjardins Group Security Office's priorities and governance
  • Lead practitioners on development projects and innovative, complex, cross-sector strategic initiatives related to security
  • Develop and recommend strategic directions and business positions
  • Lead large-scale development projects, initiatives and activities in the area of expertise
  • Identify, develop and recommend security strategic directions balancing business needs, requirements and best practices
  • Advise clients and partners on positioning, planning, development, execution and monitoring of strategic projects and initiatives
  • Identify, analyze, report and diagnose major issues and recommend solutions to decision-making bodies
  • Develop and update policies, standards, models and programs
  • Offer security programs to internal employees to promote the organization's culture of ethics and compliance
  • Represent the unit before senior management committees and decision-making bodies
  • Represent and negotiate on behalf of Desjardins and enter the organization into agreements with external partners and organizations
  • Serve as an expert advisor, subject matter expert, resource person and coach for senior management and decision-making bodies

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • CISSP, GIAC SANS, or equivalent certification is an asset
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Advanced proficiency in English, both oral and written
  • Ability to interact with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
