About the role

  • SEO Strategist developing content and search strategies for Directive Consulting’s B2B marketing clients. Managing campaigns, reporting, and client relationships remotely across Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Create and manage custom client strategies and day-to-day client deliverables
  • Develop holistic marketing strategies for Enterprise clients based on service-line expertise and business impact
  • Implement SEO and content best practices to achieve NSMs
  • Optimize and revise strategies using client goals, campaigns, historical performance, and project-phase information
  • Work with the Associate Director to address strategy roadblocks and goal attainment issues
  • Craft creative briefs and content campaigns using competitor and audience insights
  • Set client goals using Google Analytics, CRM data, SEMRush, and Ahrefs reporting
  • Obtain Associate Director approval before presenting goals to clients
  • Manage strategy execution and project responsibilities using Asana
  • Delegate and track tasks for Specialists, clients, and internal teams
  • Partner with Project Managers to create, assign, and monitor tasks and due dates
  • Collaborate with content writers and designers to deliver high-quality campaigns on time
  • Serve as the primary interface between clients and internal teams
  • Maintain client relationships and proactively communicate deliverable timelines, goal progress, roadblocks, opportunities, and account changes
  • Communicate through Slack between bi-weekly meetings and send deliverables on a regular cadence
  • Report client strategy progress through bi-weekly meetings, monthly reports, quarterly reports, and two bi-annual business review presentations
  • Identify opportunities for upsells, cross-sells, service-line growth, increased budgets, and referrals
  • Work virtually through Zoom, Slack, and other office productivity tools

Requirements

  • Proven track record implementing SEO principles and content strategy, including keyword research, on-page optimization, and link building
  • Ability to analyze website traffic and SEO metrics using tools such as Google Analytics
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and ability to own key stakeholder relationships
  • Familiarity with Google Search Console, Google Analytics, SEMRush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog/crawling tools
  • Proven organizational, project, and time management skills
  • Genuine enthusiasm for digital marketing, SEO, and content
  • Must have agency experience
  • Must have B2B tech and/or SaaS experience
  • Driven to stay ahead of industry trends, including learning how AI and automation can enhance marketing and operations
  • Must currently reside in Canada
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada
  • Reliable internet access and a professional background
  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods and observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication
