FX Artist creating high quality dynamic 3D visual effects, focusing on water, magic, and destruction. Collaborating closely with production and creative teams at Zero VFX.
Responsibilities
Design and animate high-quality photorealistic effects (fire, smoke, water, explosions, debris, clouds, etc.) that meet all technical and aesthetic project standards.
Work within the project's structure (show) and production timelines to complete assigned tasks.
Collaborate with production, supervisors, and creative teams to proactively identify and resolve technical and creative challenges.
Work closely with Lighting and Compositing artists to ensure all effects integrate seamlessly into the project's pipeline.
Produce visual look tests based on provided reference materials.
Follow guidance from the Supervisor and FX Leads, and provide direction and mentorship to other FX Artists.
Participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress.
Help foster a positive, productive, and collaborative work environment.
Requirements
3+ years of experience as an FX Artist creating photorealistic effects for television and film.
Degree in animation, arts, fine arts, or equivalent production experience.
Degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics is an asset.
Strong knowledge of Houdini.
Strong knowledge of rigid body and particle dynamics, volumetric simulation and rendering, procedural geometry generation, VEX, and fluid dynamics.
Solid understanding of physical dynamics and natural phenomena.
Excellent understanding of visual effects production pipelines.
Must reside in Quebec and be legally authorized to work in Canada.
