About the role

Senior Android Engineer building personalized savings and earnings offers for EarnIn’s earned-wage-access financial platform. Owning mobile architecture, experimentation, APIs, and end-to-end product delivery.

Responsibilities

Partner with product and design from problem definition through specification and implementation
Build and refine systems that source, match, and surface offers based on value, relevance, timing, and business outcomes
Work across the stack, owning Android while contributing to iOS or backend as needed
Use AI coding tools and agents for cross-stack code generation, spec-driven development, and faster iteration
Translate customer pain points and business goals into technical solutions
Run and instrument experiments including A/B tests, targeting logic, funnels, and retention analysis
Design and implement APIs with backend engineering partners
Develop scalable architecture
Drive app development and testing strategies and methodologies
Ship iteratively by prioritizing, scoping MVPs, and balancing speed and quality
Create unit and UI automation tests
Act as a tech lead, owning projects from specification through launch and iteration while mentoring junior engineers

Bachelor's (or higher, e.g., MS or PhD) in Computer Science or a related technical field or equivalent technical experience
4+ years of industry experience building, shipping, and maintaining mobile applications at scale, with a strong focus on Android
Product mindset focused on customer outcomes and business impact
Tech lead experience owning projects end-to-end and mentoring or guiding junior engineers
Willingness and curiosity to work across Android, iOS, or backend stacks
Comfortable using AI coding tools and agents as a core part of development
Interest in personalization, targeting, and messaging
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
Fluency in Kotlin, including Coroutines/Flow and RxJava
Experience with modern Android architectures: MVVM, MVI, MVP, Clean Architecture, and Jetpack components
Deep understanding of Android UI frameworks, including XML layouts and Jetpack Compose
Knowledge of software engineering best practices across the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and mobile release operations
Familiarity with identity verification, authentication, and authorization protocols
Experience with mobile analytics and experimentation tooling is a strong plus
Familiarity with iOS or backend development is a significant plus
