About the role
- Senior Android developer building high-performance streaming apps powering CBC Gem and ICI Tou.TV. Delivering Kotlin features across mobile, tablet, and TV platforms.
Responsibilities
- Design and/or modify reusable components for Radio-Canada's digital platforms, such as the audio/video player
- Ensure compliance with standards and control product quality throughout project execution
- Stay informed of new trends in digital development
- Proactively propose solutions to encountered challenges
- Participate in Agile Scrum activities to review ongoing production projects and make corrections or adjustments
- Measure results of completed projects
- Participate in developing user stories for various products
- Ensure developed applications perform well under high loads
- Participate in sprint planning and retrospectives
- Participate in application deployments, code reviews, and solution deployments
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, and technical managers to execute front-end development and coordinate technical work for requested features
- Support the harmonized product powering CBC Gem and ICI Tou.TV
Requirements
- University degree or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of experience in software development
- Experience developing complex and high-performance mobile applications
- Proficiency in Android Studio, Git, and Kotlin
- Experience developing an application published on Google Play
- Experience developing within a code review context (pull requests)
- Knowledge of programming patterns such as MVP or MVVM
- Ability to read, produce, and adhere to software architecture diagrams (UML, sequence diagrams, etc.)
- Interest in applications available on mobile, tablet, and TV form factors
- Good general knowledge and strong intellectual curiosity
- Critical thinking
- Interest in major trends and challenges of the digital world
- Meticulousness, independence, and resourcefulness
- Excellent stress management and priority setting
- Analytical and conceptual thinking skills
