About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct stakeholder research and interviews with scientists, clinicians, industry professionals, and the community to guide project direction.
  • Prepare interview guides, conduct interviews, and synthesize feedback into actionable insights.
  • Identify ethical, regulatory, and practical considerations aligned with iGEM's Responsible Research & Innovation (RRI) principles.
  • Help develop and produce QGEM's science communication and community engagement podcast.
  • Shape the project narrative to ensure our scientific story reflects real-world needs and community perspectives.
  • Draft written reports and insight summaries for the iGEM wiki, pitch presentations, and other competition deliverables.

Requirements

  • Comfort discussing scientific concepts and a willingness to learn about QGEM's project.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including interviewing, note-taking, and qualitative analysis.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to document information clearly.
  • Team-oriented and comfortable collaborating in interdisciplinary environments.
  • Experience with podcast production, interviewing, or outreach is an asset but not required.
  • Interest in science communication, ethics, responsible innovation, policy, or public engagement.
