Code Consultant delivering technical and leadership roles in building code consulting projects at Entuitive. Responsible for compliance and alternative solutions with a focus on fire safety engineering.
Responsibilities
Technical delivery of building code consulting projects, including plan reviews and markups, report writing, and coordination.
Technical input to alternative solutions including fire modelling, evacuation modelling, and risk assessments.
Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties.
Draft project-related correspondence as needed.
Participate in project meetings facilitating solutions to achieve code compliance or options for consideration that are outside the code (alternative solutions).
Collaborate with external consultants and constructors, and other services internally at Entuitive.
Project Management.
Business Development & Client Relations.
Requirements
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil or mechanical engineering, architecture, or a related field, or Diploma in Architectural or Fire Protection Engineering Technology
6-8 years of experience in building code compliance and developing performance-based Alternative Solution in a consulting environment
Registered Professional Engineer or other professional designation such as BCIN Professional
Experience interpreting and applying regulatory codes and standards to ensure compliance
Demonstrated ability to develop performance-based solutions meeting the requirements of the regulations and achieving approvals
Knowledgeable of local market conditions, emerging trends, and opportunities
Strong business acumen, and the ability to exercise sound judgment
Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks, including with Authorities Having Jurisdiction
Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills
Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Proven client service capability along with the experience to effectively manage multiple teams simultaneously
Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while juggling competing priorities
