About the role
- Intermediate Software Developer building React and TypeScript analytics and mapping applications for North American customers. Collaborating across teams and contributing to front-end, APIs, testing, and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain modern web applications using React and TypeScript
- Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable UI components
- Integrate with REST APIs and backend services
- Work with large datasets, interactive visualizations, and mapping applications
- Collaborate with Product, UX, QA, and Engineering teams to deliver customer value
- Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve application reliability and performance
- Write automated unit and integration tests
- Contribute to improvements in engineering practices, tooling, and development processes
- Participate in developing backend APIs and services where appropriate
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software development experience
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building production applications with React
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
- Experience building reusable component-based user interfaces
- Experience consuming and troubleshooting REST APIs
- Experience with application state management patterns
- Solid understanding of HTML, CSS, responsive design, and accessibility fundamentals
- Experience using Git in a collaborative development environment, including pull requests, branching strategies, and code reviews
- Experience writing automated tests
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- C# and ASP.NET Core development experience is an additional qualification
- SQL development and relational database design experience is an additional qualification
- Experience with OAuth, OpenID Connect, or MSAL is an additional qualification
- Azure cloud services experience is an additional qualification
- CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment experience is an additional qualification
- Performance optimization and application monitoring experience is an additional qualification
- Geospatial, mapping, or analytics applications experience is an additional qualification
- Experience working in Agile product development teams is an additional qualification
