About the role

  • Full-stack developer building Equisoft’s Kotlin-based insurance policy administration platform. Developing secure web features with React, Java, SQL, and microservices in an Agile team.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement features and components of a Kotlin-based web application
  • Collaborate in an Agile environment with software developers, product owners, and quality assurance specialists
  • Analyze features to meet business and technology solution needs
  • Innovate, challenge, and refine requirements based on technical assessment
  • Participate in peer reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Collaborate on functional testing and documentation of current and future features
  • Ensure overall software quality and its evolution in the mid- to long-term
  • Perform scenario testing to validate compliance with technical specifications
  • Write reliable code based on SOLID software engineering practices
  • Fix bugs in a timely manner and solve complex issues
  • Collaborate with different teams to resolve customer issues
  • Build Equisoft/Carbon, a cloud-native Policy Administration System supporting the insurance policy lifecycle

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or information technology or Equivalent College Degree
  • 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role
  • Excellent knowledge and experience with programming languages like Kotlin, Java or .Net
  • Excellent knowledge of SQL
  • Excellent knowledge of microservice architecture
  • Good knowledge and experience with React or Angular and JavaScript/TypeScript
  • Knowledge of GraphQL and REST APIs
  • Good knowledge of SOLID principles and OOP
  • Knowledge of Agile and Kanban methodologies
  • Knowledge in DevOps Azure Pipeline
  • Knowledge of security challenges with web-based applications
  • Experience in solving complex software engineering problems
  • Strong sense of organization and prioritizing
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate, write and synthesize information
  • Ability to multi-task in a rapid-paced environment
  • Team spirit, tact, diplomacy, autonomy, rigor, and discipline
