About the role
- Senior Software Engineer building Python/Django and React software for EverCommerce’s DrChrono EHR platform. Delivering healthcare applications used by medical practices and physicians.
Responsibilities
- Participate in all aspects of the DrChrono software development lifecycle for new application development and existing system maintenance
- Gather and document requirements
- Estimate requirements
- Develop software
- Perform automated unit testing
- Deploy software
- Conduct software demonstrations
- Maintain systems documentation
- Participate in daily stand-ups and retrospectives
- Mentor and pair with developers
- Create prototypes
- Work alongside developers, quality assurance testers, and product owners on an agile team to deliver stable, quality software
- Code, test, and deploy software (70%)
- Conduct mentoring, pairing, and code reviews (20%)
- Perform requirement estimation and software spikes (5%)
- Participate in meetings, presentations, and demos (5%)
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- 3+ years' experience writing production backend code in Python and Django
- 3+ years' experience doing front-end web development using HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript
- 2+ years' experience with React and Typescript
- 3+ years of experience with Test Automation, Mocking, Stubs, etc
- Experience with Relational Databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MariaDB, or other)
- Demonstrates expertise in algorithms, refactoring and engineering best practices (DRY, SOLID, etc)
- Proficiency with Git
- Experience conducting code reviews
- Bachelor or Master Degree in Computer Science is preferred or equivalent experience
- Must be eligible to work without sponsorship
- Nice to haves: Test driven development experience; Experience with Agile and Scrum development methodologies; Experience with Developer experience AI tools
