About the role

  • Software Automation Developer Intern building Python test automation for Exegy’s financial technology platforms. Supporting CI/CD, testing frameworks, and AI-assisted diagnostics for market data systems.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain reusable automated test scripts, libraries, and utilities primarily using Python
  • Integrate automated test coverage, validation gates, and health checks into CI/CD pipelines such as GitLab CI or Jenkins
  • Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code for functional, integration, regression, and system testing across Exegy products
  • Develop understanding of financial markets, trading systems, market data platforms, and high-performance software environments
  • Explore developer-assistance tools and modern AI platforms such as Claude and Gemini for test generation, log analysis, and diagnostic workflows
  • Participate in team code reviews, sprint activities, and technical discussions
  • Document test results, framework usage, and bug reports clearly and concisely

Requirements

  • Strong foundational knowledge and hands-on experience using Python through coursework, personal projects, research, or prior internships
  • Exposure to C++ or Linux environments is a plus
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong desire to replace manual testing with reliable, repeatable, and maintainable automated code
  • Basic understanding of object-oriented design, version control (Git), and writing reusable code components
  • Interest in learning about financial technology, trading systems, market data, and the broader SDLC
  • Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and clear verbal/written communication in a team-oriented environment
