About the role
- Web Developer building Exegy’s client portal and web platforms for financial-market technology clients. Developing responsive interfaces, API integrations, backend services, testing, and performance improvements.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain responsive, client-facing portal features using modern JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end frameworks
- Develop backend services, RESTful API integrations, and data connections using Python or Node.js
- Turn wireframes, user stories, and product specifications into accessible, high-performing web pages and interface components
- Write clean, testable code and expand automated unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) testing suites
- Participate in active code reviews, sprint planning, and front-end design discussions
- Diagnose and resolve client-side UI bugs, cross-browser issues, API integration failures, and performance bottlenecks
- Support CI/CD deployment workflows and maintain clear technical documentation for web components and workflows
- Partner cross-functionally to refine requirements and continuously optimize user experience
Requirements
- Professional experience building, shipping, and supporting production web applications
- Proficiency in JavaScript or TypeScript and modern front-end frameworks; React strongly preferred
- Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and connecting backend web services
- Experience with Python (FastAPI/Flask) or Node.js for server-side logic
- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3/SASS, DOM manipulation, and responsive design
- Familiarity with relational databases, Git, automated testing frameworks, and modern web deployment pipelines
- Strong troubleshooting skills and collaborative problem-solving approach
- Demonstrated ownership of complex technical projects or production applications
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across technical and nontechnical teams
- Preferred: React, TypeScript, Vite, Python, FastAPI, B2B SaaS interfaces, enterprise portals, client dashboards, web application security, performance optimization, fintech/capital markets/market data, AI-enabled services, and globally distributed engineering teams
