About the role

  • Automation Platform Technical Lead owning UiPath infrastructure, governance, security, and reliability at Export Development Canada. Scaling secure enterprise automation across regulated financial-services operations.

Responsibilities

  • Own and operate UiPath Cloud Orchestrator and other automation platforms as enterprise platforms
  • Design platform environments, folder governance, RBAC, and controlled promotion across DEV, TEST, and PROD
  • Design, provision, and maintain unattended bot execution infrastructure, including AVD or Cloud PCs, machine pools, capacity planning, scheduling, patching, golden images, and execution hardening
  • Manage platform upgrades, patching, feature adoption, and release planning
  • Define and enforce automation platform standards for folders, naming, assets, queues, triggers, and logging
  • Design and manage bot and service identities, least-privilege access, segregation of duties, Active Directory/Entra ID integrations, and secrets management
  • Govern UiPath development standards, REFramework, queue processing, exception handling, idempotent design, and safe reprocessing
  • Build reusable libraries, components, and templates
  • Perform technical design and code reviews for senior developers and principals
  • Own production reliability, monitoring, operational health, and KPIs such as success rates, queue health, utilization, and MTTR
  • Lead incident response, root cause analysis, preventive remediation, change requests, risk assessments, approvals, and production deployments
  • Monitor vendor roadmaps and release notes
  • Design and govern integrations with ServiceNow, APIs/APIM, data platforms, analytics solutions, Power Platform, and other automation technologies
  • Ensure automations align with enterprise architecture and digital strategy
  • Lead adoption and governance of AI capabilities, cost controls, usage guardrails, and human-in-the-loop controls
  • Act as the technical authority for UiPath and other automation platforms
  • Lead and contribute to Communities of Practice and technical forums
  • Coach and mentor developers and citizen developers
  • Communicate technical risks, trade-offs, and platform decisions to senior stakeholders

Requirements

  • Post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in enterprise automation with hands-on UiPath platform experience
  • Demonstrated ownership of UiPath Orchestrator administration, beyond bot development
  • Experience setting up and operating unattended bots
  • Experience with bot execution infrastructure such as AVD, Cloud PCs, or similar
  • Experience with bot/service accounts and credential vault integrations such as CyberArk/Idira
  • Strong experience with REFramework and scalable automation patterns
  • Proven experience operating automations in production within regulated environments
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and Git
  • Proven ability to lead senior engineers and deliver enterprise-grade automation platforms
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or government-regulated environments
  • Experience with ServiceNow CSM/Automation Center and Power Platform
  • Experience integrating automation with APIs, APIM, and enterprise data platforms
  • Experience governing AI-enabled automation in production environments
  • Strong communication skills and comfort presenting to senior technical and business audiences
  • Preference for candidates able to work legally in Canada at the time of application; Canadian citizens or permanent residents
  • Must meet requisite government security screening requirements
