About the role
- Senior Business Analyst translating business needs into solutions for EDC’s financing and investment platforms. Supporting Agile delivery, reporting accuracy, vendor coordination, and financial systems modernization.
Responsibilities
- Lead business analysis efforts for an investments management platform, including troubleshooting, reporting, and team alignment
- Act as the primary liaison between business users and technical teams
- Facilitate alignment meetings and support requirement discovery, development, and testing
- Capture business needs clearly in an easily consumed format
- Contribute to team-level Objectives and Key Results (OKRs)
- Support upgrade testing and coordinate issue resolution with vendors
- Collaborate with business lines to define and execute test strategies
- Define and validate business requirements for software enhancements
- Guide development teams to ensure solutions meet business expectations and compliance standards
- Deliver clear, complete, usable, and appropriately sized documentation
- Troubleshoot financial transaction issues and coordinate reporting enhancements
- Present issues to vendors and support the Product Owner in managing cross-functional expectations
- Analyze investment data inconsistencies and reporting challenges
- Collaborate with IT architects on strategic planning and roadmap development
- Help business units visualize root causes and recommend actionable solutions
- Adapt and refine Agile and business analysis practices
- Promote best practices in requirements gathering, stakeholder engagement, and solution delivery
- Collaborate with the Financing & Investments team, vendor partners, and internal stakeholders
- Build and maintain relationships with internal and external contacts while managing expectations
- Anticipate, prepare for, and respond effectively to change
- Support subject matter experts through user acceptance testing (UAT) and operational readiness activities
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Business, Commerce, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 7+ years of Business Analysis experience
- 5+ years writing user stories and managing requirements in Azure DevOps (ADO) or similar tools
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery, technical implementations, project lifecycles, and large-scale program delivery
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to translate business needs into functional requirements
- Experience working with financial systems, lending/underwriting applications, and modernizing legacy platforms
- Strong understanding of financial services, including banking, financing, investments, risk management, and corporate reporting processes
- Ability to work independently in complex environments with limited documentation
- Experience facilitating workshops and creating visual artifacts using tools such as Miro or Mural
- Knowledge of Power BI and financial platforms such as eFront is an asset
- Business Analysis certifications such as CBAP, Agile Analysis, or Master's Certificate in Business Analysis are an asset
- Bilingualism (English/French) is nice to have
- Ability to work legally in Canada at the time of application, with preference for Canadian Citizens or Permanent Residents
