About the role

  • Reliability Engineering Intern working with experienced engineers on mining operations. Gaining hands-on experience with Caterpillar equipment and engineering challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with Reliability Engineers on active mining operations
  • Build hands-on experience with Caterpillar heavy equipment
  • Apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges
  • Develop your skills in data analysis, diagnostics, and performance optimization
  • Gain exposure to industry-leading tools, systems, and technical training
  • Plan and Assemble of 7495 Mining Shovel
  • Support continuous improvement (CI) projects with technical data
  • Collaborate with engineers, technical teams, and site stakeholders
  • Identify improvement opportunities using data insights

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled in a Mechanical or Electrical or Mining Engineering degree
  • Returning to studies after your work term
  • Interest in heavy equipment, mining operations, or reliability engineering
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems (engines, hydraulics, powertrain)
  • Strong analytical mindset and willingness to learn
  • Familiarity with MS Office (Excel is a plus)
