About the role
- Application Software Developer for Android enhancing the Intelligent Voice Assistant at Ford. Integrating advanced technologies for a multimodal interface while collaborating with Product Managers and designers.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement the UI layer of the Intelligent Voice Assistant using Jetpack Compose
- Utilize Rive to create interactive animations that respond in real-time to voice triggers
- Maintain a clean, scalable codebase using MVVM or MVI
- Ensure the UI is responsive, stable, and performant under vehicle hardware constraints
- Work closely with VUI designers, AI engineers, and Product Managers
- Stay at the forefront of Android development, prototyping new ways for drivers to interact with AI safely
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum 4 years of professional Android development experience with a deep understanding of the Android SDK and Kotlin
- Minimum 2 years experience with Jetpack Compose
- Mastery of MVVM and a solid understanding of Clean Architecture, Dependency Injection (Hilt/Dagger), and Coroutines/Flow for asynchronous state management
- Experience consuming RESTful APIs and handling real-time data streams (WebSockets or WebRTC)
- Proven experience integrating Rive or similar animation tools into production applications (preferred)
- Familiarity with Agile development processes (preferred)
- Excellent communication skills
