About the role
- Senior Full Stack Developer building Ford’s scalable diagnostics cloud platform. Designing interfaces, APIs, data ingestion, and governance capabilities for engineering teams.
Responsibilities
- Work with a multi-discipline team of 10–15 software professionals
- Optimize diagnostics cloud ingestion to handle larger and more numerous data payloads
- Increase relational database ingestion speed and capacity
- Design and build highly functional user interfaces for thousands of Ford engineers to access diagnostics data
- Design and build performant APIs for more than 100 Ford teams to consume diagnostics data automatically
- Improve and expand data value-enhancement capabilities, including stack trace generation, automatic Jira creation, and bulk log search
- Design and build governance capabilities to ensure responsible use of Ford customer diagnostics data
- Contribute to technical problem-solving, design and strategy work, and mentorship of junior developers
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in computer science, software engineering or a related field of study
- Minimum 8 years of experience in software development
- Minimum 4 years of experience working with relational databases such as SQL Server
- Minimum 4 years of experience in front-end development using JavaScript, HTML, etc.
- Proficiency with Spring Boot and Java Microservices
- Familiarity with ELK stack, particularly Elasticsearch and Logstash
- Working knowledge of OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker, and similar technologies
- Hands-on experience with public clouds such as GCP, Azure, and AWS
- Embedded development background or familiarity with GDB
- Skilled in Python
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
- Ford of Canada does not sponsor work permit applications
- Successful candidates must provide proof of degree completion; foreign degrees require an Education Credential Assessment showing Canadian equivalency
