Responsibilities
Design, implement, test, and support new feature development using industry best practices
Work in an Agile team with software developers, test engineers, technical product managers, and leads
Own and develop software features end to end
Investigate design options for new features and review them with the team
Develop proofs of concept and prototypes for next-generation infotainment systems
Investigate, debug, understand, and fix product bugs
Review team members’ designs and code, providing constructive feedback
Develop and manage software for Ford Android-based infotainment systems, focusing on Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration
Test software in real conditions using Ford test vehicles
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related degree
3 to 5 years' professional software development experience
2+ years' experience in Android software development using Kotlin or Java and JNI
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
Ford does not sponsor work permit applications
Proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained
Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency if the degree was obtained outside Canada
Preferred: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
Preferred: Experience working on CarPlay and Android Auto
Preferred: Proficiency and hands-on experience with C and/or C++
Preferred: Experience with automotive infotainment systems
Preferred: Specialized experience with Audio, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi
Preferred: Experience working effectively within an Agile development environment
Preferred: Working knowledge of Git for source code management and collaboration
