About the role

  • Network Administrator supporting the design and operation of FortisBC’s enterprise network infrastructure. Driving technical initiatives and providing advanced support for network systems.

Responsibilities

  • Provides senior technical input to network planning for enterprise connectivity platforms.
  • Contributes to the development and maintenance of the Network Infrastructure Roadmap.
  • Researches and recommends future network architecture that aligns with business and technology needs.
  • Performs network capacity planning and technology evaluations in collaboration with teams.
  • Contributes technical expertise to the definition and delivery of network initiatives and upgrades.
  • Leads the execution of network infrastructure projects.
  • Develops and executes communication plans related to network upgrades.
  • Provides advanced technical support for enterprise network environments.

Requirements

  • 2-year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 8 years’ related work experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking includes routing, switching, wireless, load-balancing, and firewall technologies.
  • Advanced expertise with network monitoring and automation tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Ability to execute large projects.
  • Ability to analyze problems.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s license.
