About the role

Network Administrator supporting the design and operation of FortisBC’s enterprise network infrastructure. Driving technical initiatives and providing advanced support for network systems.

Responsibilities

Provides senior technical input to network planning for enterprise connectivity platforms.
Contributes to the development and maintenance of the Network Infrastructure Roadmap.
Researches and recommends future network architecture that aligns with business and technology needs.
Performs network capacity planning and technology evaluations in collaboration with teams.
Contributes technical expertise to the definition and delivery of network initiatives and upgrades.
Leads the execution of network infrastructure projects.
Develops and executes communication plans related to network upgrades.
Provides advanced technical support for enterprise network environments.

2-year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
8 years’ related work experience.
Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking includes routing, switching, wireless, load-balancing, and firewall technologies.
Advanced expertise with network monitoring and automation tools.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills.
Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
Ability to execute large projects.
Ability to analyze problems.
Leadership and management skills.
Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s license.
