About the role
- Network Administrator supporting the design and operation of FortisBC’s enterprise network infrastructure. Driving technical initiatives and providing advanced support for network systems.
Responsibilities
- Provides senior technical input to network planning for enterprise connectivity platforms.
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of the Network Infrastructure Roadmap.
- Researches and recommends future network architecture that aligns with business and technology needs.
- Performs network capacity planning and technology evaluations in collaboration with teams.
- Contributes technical expertise to the definition and delivery of network initiatives and upgrades.
- Leads the execution of network infrastructure projects.
- Develops and executes communication plans related to network upgrades.
- Provides advanced technical support for enterprise network environments.
Requirements
- 2-year Diploma in Computer or Electronics Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- 8 years’ related work experience.
- Advanced knowledge of enterprise networking includes routing, switching, wireless, load-balancing, and firewall technologies.
- Advanced expertise with network monitoring and automation tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent written and oral communications and presentation skills.
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ability to execute large projects.
- Ability to analyze problems.
- Leadership and management skills.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver’s license.
