About the role
- Principal Software Engineer scaling Fulfillment IQ’s Zynque integration platform for supply chain logistics. Hardening production systems for enterprise throughput, reliability, and multi-tenant growth.
Responsibilities
- Own technical direction and architecture evolution of a live, revenue-generating integration platform
- Scale throughput and reliability while customers onboard, including zero-downtime changes to running systems
- Harden the platform through tenant isolation, rate limiting, security, and data integrity improvements
- Establish observability, SLOs, and incident practices as the customer base grows
- Lead performance and capacity work ahead of demand
- Raise engineering standards through design reviews and mentorship
- Partner with Product to balance platform investment against feature delivery
- Identify and retire scaling risks and technical debt before they compound
- Build deep command of the codebase and production topology
- Ship production changes and document scaling and reliability risks
- Deliver major scaling or reliability improvements and establish observability and SLO baselines
- Own and execute an enterprise-readiness roadmap with measurable gains in throughput, latency, or stability
- Report against platform uptime, reliability, throughput, latency, onboarding velocity, incident frequency, recovery time, and enterprise scalability readiness
Requirements
- 10+ years building and operating cloud-native backend or platform systems
- Experience scaling a production SaaS or data platform through rapid customer growth
- Experience with hardening, re-architecture under load, and maturing an early product to enterprise grade
- Deep hands-on experience with high-throughput distributed systems
- Experience with event streaming or message queues, async processing, idempotency, retries, and backpressure
- Strong performance engineering skills, including profiling, load testing, horizontal scaling, and capacity planning
- Production reliability ownership, including observability, SLOs, incident management, and fault-tolerant design
- Multi-tenant SaaS experience, including tenant isolation and noisy-neighbor problems
- Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript (Next.js)
- Hands-on daily coder with founder-level ownership
- Comfortable in low-process, high-ambiguity environments
- Experience with an integration platform, ETL/data pipeline product, or API platform (nice to have)
- Kafka or similar streaming infrastructure at scale (nice to have)
- Supply chain or logistics systems exposure, including WMS, OMS, TMS, or EDI integrations (nice to have)
- AI-assisted engineering workflows (nice to have)
- Experience shipping AI/LLM-driven capabilities in production, including RAG, generation pipelines, or agentic workflows (nice to have)
