About the role
- Facilities Supervisor leading maintenance, custodial teams, equipment, safety, and infrastructure at Printful’s on-demand printing and fulfillment facility in Mississauga.
Responsibilities
- Lead the maintenance and custodial teams
- Manage facilities team members, including custodians, facilities staff, and coordinators
- Plan and coordinate facility resources, including equipment, personnel, and inventory
- Maintain facility-related systems such as gas, water, electrical, and plumbing
- Maintain forklifts, aerial lifts, and order-picking equipment safely and ensure operator competence
- Ensure OSHA guidelines are followed throughout the facility
- Plan and organize building improvements, renovations, and capital equipment installations
- Monitor facility equipment and amenities and oversee repairs
- Ensure the facility is clean, sanitary, and aesthetically maintained
- Train, develop, mentor, and evaluate team members
- Coordinate required facility inspections, including fire extinguishers, alarms, backflow valves, and sprinklers
- Consult with HR on staff-related issues
- Coordinate outsourced facility work and audit contractor performance
- Evaluate work proposals and financial feasibility
- Review RFPs and lease documents
- Evaluate utility consumption and reduce costs
- Oversee facility event setup
- Coordinate ground maintenance, trash removal, snow removal, and plant trimming
- Ensure proper waste disposal and maintain an effective recycling program
- Enforce parking rules
- Analyze and forecast facility needs, including supplies
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a facilities management role for a manufacturing/warehousing operation
- Excellent leadership and people management skills
- Knowledge of and work experience with the 5-S process and CMMS
- Knowledge of facilities' electrical infrastructure, gas lines, plumbing, HVAC systems, and networking infrastructure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficiency with MS Excel
- Outstanding spoken and written communication skills
- Strong decision-making skills and a results-driven approach
- Understanding of quality standards and health and safety (OSHA) regulations
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Experience working with IT and networking systems is a plus
