DERMS Solutions Specialist deploying GE GridOS software for utility distributed-energy management. Designing integrations, automating data workflows, and guiding client implementations.
Responsibilities
Engage utility clients to understand the impacts of distributed energy resources on distribution systems
Understand client business needs and align GE GridOS DERMS solutions to those needs
Lead requirements management and ensure requirements are traceable to solution design and QA test cases
Collaborate with Technical Leads and Solution Specialists on solution architecture, success criteria, and solution diagrams
Deploy GE GridOS DERMS solutions to client environments and prepare network, forecast, planning scenario, and generation cost data
Create scripts and automate data processing systems
Convert and validate CIM distribution network models and powerflow results
Lead custom adapter, connector, API, and microservice design and development
Develop full-stack integrated solutions across backend, middleware, and presentation layers
Collaborate with Service Engineering to deliver custom work on time and within budget
Respond to client inquiries, bugs, and product ideas and file Product team tickets
Lead project scenario simulations and client-specific testing, including factory and site acceptance testing
Debug software bugs and document issues
Automate solution processes and workflows using APIs
Analyze project data and results
Report project outcomes and present findings to stakeholders
Define project goals, objectives, requirements, functionality, acceptance criteria, and user acceptance testing
Develop business cases and product requirements, including regulatory needs where applicable
Standardize processes and deliverables with Project Managers across projects
Create user acceptance documentation and training modules
Train utility clients and end users on GE GridOS DERMS
Identify delivery risks and recommend mitigation strategies
Support sales activities with technical demonstrations and identify potential upsell opportunities
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a similar program, with a focus on power systems, or relevant experience
2+ years relevant work experience
Strong electricity industry knowledge
Strong analysis skills, including requirements elicitation and management
Ability to trace requirements to design specifications and test plans/cases
Experience automating processes and utilizing or building scripting solutions
Software development experience and strong understanding of the SDLC
Experience integrating custom solutions into a product
Knowledge of DER management, distribution planning, IT, SCADA, and asset management
Experience with Java, Python, and database connectors
Hands-on experience deploying solutions to AWS cloud; certification a plus
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to configure solutions to client needs and solve complex problems
Genuine interest in new tools and technology and ability to learn new software quickly
