About the role

  • Environmental Project Coordinator delivering contaminated-site assessments, remediation and reclamation for GHD. Coordinating projects, regulatory reporting and client relationships from Edmonton.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute contaminated-site investigations, remediation designs and extensive field work
  • Develop engineering and scientific solutions to bring sites to closure through assessment, remediation and/or risk assessment
  • Plan, coordinate and perform environmental site assessments, including collection of field information and analysis of environmental data
  • Prepare and submit associated reports to Alberta Environment and Protected Areas and the Alberta Energy Regulator
  • Collaborate with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Project Directors, Technical Leads and field practitioners
  • Mentor junior environmental practitioners in their professional development
  • Assist with project resourcing, systems and processes to deliver services on time and within client budgets
  • Assist Project Managers and Project Directors from proposal through execution across a portfolio of federally and provincially regulated projects
  • Nurture client relationships and engage with industry networks
  • Maintain health, safety, quality and environment KPIs and behaviors
  • Create multistakeholder solutions that promote innovation and collaboration across business units

Requirements

  • Bachelor and/or master's degree in environmental science, engineering or related discipline
  • Registration with a professional designation in Alberta (e.g. P.Eng, P.Geo or P.Ag) is an asset
  • 3 to 7 years of experience with contaminated site assessments, remediation and reclamation
  • Working knowledge in the oil & gas industry is an asset
  • Expertise in field assessments, technical reporting and project management
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal legislation and regulatory requirements surrounding contaminated sites in Alberta
  • Mentoring skills
  • Strong time management and organizational ability
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Valid driver's license
