About the role

Environmental Scientist supporting GHD's contaminated-site assessment and remediation projects in Ottawa. Conducting field investigations, environmental analysis, project coordination, and client engagement.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute engineering and scientific solutions for contaminated sites through assessment, remediation, and/or risk assessment
Conduct frequent field work to establish base competencies within the contaminated sites and remediation team
Collaborate with Project Coordinators, Project Managers, Project Directors, Technical Leads, and Field Technicians/Scientists/Engineers
Provide field and office mentoring to more junior environmental practitioners
Assist with project resourcing, systems, and processes to deliver services on time and within client budgets
Assist Project Managers and Project Directors from proposal through execution
Work on federally and provincially regulated projects for diverse clients
Nurture client relationships and engage with industry networks
Analyze environmental data and develop environmentally responsible solutions meeting regulatory obligations
Maintain health, safety, quality, and environment KPIs and behaviours
Drive innovation and collaboration across business units

Bachelor's (and/or master's) degree in Environmental Science, Geoscience, Geology or related discipline
P.Geo. license, or working towards, is preferred
2 to 6 years of experience with contaminated site assessments and remediations
Expertise in field assessments, technical reporting, and project coordination
Valid full Class G Ontario driver's license
