About the role

Lighting and AV systems designer creating CAD wiring packages and bills of materials for a Canadian LED manufacturer. Supporting installers with pixel, DMX, voltage-drop, and controller issues.

Responsibilities

Produce design packages from the design lead's markups, including wiring and single-line diagrams, fixture and cable layouts, controller and addressing schedules, pathway and assembly drawings, in AutoCAD
Build costed bills of materials in the CPQ and ERP, including connectors, PSUs, amplifiers and wire
Hold the installer support line about 40% of the week
Troubleshoot pixel data faults, DMX addressing, voltage drop and controller setup
Create installer-facing documentation from repeat support calls

3+ years in a design or drafting seat at an AV integrator, lighting integrator, or systems house
Produced signal-flow, rack, cable schedule or wiring packages that got built
AutoCAD
Revit or D-Tools a plus
Low-voltage DC fundamentals: voltage drop, power injection, PSU sizing
Clear, confident phone manner
Pass a live phone screen
Daily AI use in your work
Full availability 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern, Monday to Friday
Legally able to work in Canada
Preferred, not required: DMX512, SPI pixel protocols (WS2811, UCS, TM18xx), or any of Advatek, Falcon, PixLite, ENTTEC, Pharos, Madrix
Attach one wiring diagram or signal-flow drawing produced yourself
Provide a link to a 2-minute video explaining voltage drop on a 12V LED run to an electrician unfamiliar with the term
Put the word PIXEL in the first line of the cover letter

Full-time remote work anywhere in Canada
Fixed daytime schedule, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Eastern, Monday to Friday
No on-call
Ownership of the design package end to end, reviewed by the design lead
Work on real architectural, signage and entertainment lighting projects across North America
Small team with no layers
Drawings and fixes become the company's standard
