About the role

  • Manager leading a Cabin Thermal Software team at GM, developing embedded software for Cabin comfort, collaborating cross-functionally to ensure quality product release.

Responsibilities

  • Enable self-organizing, self-managing teams to deliver product on-time with quality executions in an agile environment
  • Implement quality software development practices and develop/own high-quality software.
  • Help remove impediments and foster an environment for high-performing team dynamics, continuous flow, and relentless improvement
  • Implement and support agile principles and practices, identifying and eliminating impediments, and facilitating flow
  • Develop high performing team by practicing GM values & behaviors
  • Lead and manage supplier & GM strategic partner software deliverables to program timelines
  • Lead timely resolution of product quality issue to ensure launch quality
  • Implement process improvement for product quality enhancement
  • Hire, Mentor, coach, and develop employees and their careers
  • Establish and monitor budget for responsible activities
  • Execute resource planning for required activities
  • Model and foster GM's Core Values and Winning Behaviors
  • Support cross functional Key Strategic Initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering to include Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Science, Computer Engineering and Mathematics.
  • Minimum 10+ years of engineering experience related to embedded control system & Software development experience.
  • Demonstrated technical background in Body controls (Cabin Comfort, Seats, Lights, Vehicle Access etc.)
  • Highly skilled & hands on experience in embedded controls software development & related tool set – (e.g. AUTOSAR software, developing & debugging physics-based C code, Jira, GIT Ecosystem, etc.)
  • Demonstrated results in successful project execution
  • Excellent multi-functional communication and leadership skills - able to get multiple teams moving in the same direction.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with ambiguity while driving timely decision making.
