About the role

  • Senior Software Developer developing embedded camera-viewing features for General Motors vehicles and trailers. Prototyping, integrating, testing, and releasing automotive software in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a large group of technical employees responsible for engineering deliverables supporting the organization's business objectives.
  • Initiate, prototype and test new features and technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams in ITC and other functions, including TPMs, program managers, performance team and MLOps.
  • Manage technical teams with project responsibilities.
  • Develop and release embedded features for Vehicle Interface Processor, VCU and other systems.
  • Design and develop embedded software in an Agile environment.
  • Perform analysis, resolution and tracking of defects to closure.
  • Coordinate and participate in architecture, requirements, design, code and test case reviews.
  • Review software change requests, plan implementation based on team skills and bandwidth, and perform code reviews.
  • Develop and integrate customer-centric camera viewing features that aid drivers connecting to and driving with trailers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or a related technical degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in product development in automotive or a related industry.
  • Experience developing or leading development of complex camera based features.
  • Significant experience in all aspects of the development process, from up front requirement analysis, systems design experience to backend integration.
  • Outstanding collaboration and communications skills.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile software development process and SCM tools like GitHub.
  • Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, computer engineering or electrical engineering is preferred.
  • Prior experience with vehicle infotainment systems is preferred.
  • Prior practical experience with vehicle trailering systems is preferred.
  • Prior experience leading embedded software engineering development teams is preferred.
  • Experience with automotive electronic devices is preferred.
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
