About the role

  • Tool Crib Attendant managing inventory, goods receiving, and counter service for Grainger’s MRO distribution operations. Maintaining secure, organized crib areas and supporting workplace safety.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, courteous, helpful, and accurate counter customer service to internal and external customers
  • Restock shelves and count current inventory
  • Manage incoming goods, label products, and keep shelves neat and organized
  • Deliver goods and put them away in VMI areas, including vending equipment when applicable
  • Use and maintain information systems for inventory tracking
  • Perform cycle counts according to schedule
  • Clean the crib work area, including garbage cans, floors, computers, and crib equipment
  • Keep the crib area secure by controlling access and locking gates as appropriate
  • Follow WFS, customer-facility, and Occupational Health and Safety Act protocols
  • Support the WFS Quality System
  • Perform other assigned duties

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma or equivalent experience required
  • General tool knowledge is mandatory
  • Excellent organizational and housekeeping skills
  • Strong proficiency in the English language, both written and oral
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proven accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a positive team environment
  • General knowledge of computers, including inventory management programs, Microsoft Word programs, especially Excel, email, and typing
  • Proven telephone etiquette
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work at other locations for coverage purposes as needed
  • Ability to work shift work, including nights and weekends, and 12-hour shifts
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Shipping/receiving department and/or tools and industrial supplies experience preferred
  • Customer service and sales experience preferred
  • Pre-employment background check required for external candidates
