About the role
- Insurance Sales Representative handling inbound quotes and tailored Home, Auto, Lifestyle, and Marine coverage. Building customer relationships, growing sales, and resolving insurance inquiries for OTIP Group.
Responsibilities
- Handle inbound calls from customers seeking quotes or looking to expand coverage
- Uncover customer needs and recommend tailored insurance solutions
- Provide accurate, competitive quotes
- Introduce new products and services and explain coverage options
- Build customer loyalty and drive additional business
- Ask for referrals and identify opportunities to deepen customer relationships
- Sell Home, Auto & Lifestyle products with a specialty in Marine
- Establish contact and develop relationships with prospects
- Respond promptly to telephone inquiries and written requests
- Follow up on ex-dates, re-quote prospects, contact leads, and ask for referrals
- Create a trusting environment that supports new sales and retention
- Participate individually and within the team to improve the business
- Own and resolve customer inquiries while minimizing customer effort
- Process account changes and maintain complete customer documentation
- Prepare correspondence and document files for follow-up in EPIC
- Resolve complex insurance-related cases using available resources
- Stay updated on underwriting guidelines and changing markets
- Perform other duties within competence as assigned
Requirements
- Valid RIBO License (required)
- 1+ year experience in personal lines (home & auto insurance)
- 1+ year experience specializing in marine insurance
- Fluency in French and English is an asset
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trust and rapport
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving abilities
- Willingness to handle Home, Auto & Lifestyle insurance, with a specialty in Marine
- Willingness to work with company underwriting guidelines and changing markets
