About the role
- Solutions Engineer designing data-driven enterprise solutions for GS1 Canada. Leading subscriber requirements, Azure architecture, integrations, implementation, and system transformation.
Responsibilities
- Work with subscribers to understand business and technical needs and design solutions
- Serve as a subject matter expert and lead implementation of approved solutions
- Develop and maintain enterprise architecture solution delivery documentation, SOPs and process maps
- Lead business and technical requirements gathering, discovery and mapping with cross-functional departments
- Capture and validate business processes across systems, including interfaces, process flows and redesign
- Translate subscriber needs and future system enhancements into execution plans aligned with enterprise infrastructure vision
- Lead system- and process-related projects and act as a subject matter expert
- Lead design discussions focused on scalability, implementation and best practices
- Lead development of data integrations, software modifications and application data integration decisions
- Liaise with internal stakeholders and development teams
- Lead project/solution development, documentation, delivery management, rollout, support and SDLC activities
- Onboard and train new team members
- Monitor application health, adoption, security and cost
- Participate with business owners in defining SOPs for business processes, technical development, change management and operational support
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Business program or equivalent area of study
- At least 4-6 years software engineering industry experience
- Deep understanding of database design, enterprise systems and data modelling
- Experience in measurement and evaluation of portfolio management
- Functional expertise in one or more programming languages, with SQL preferred
- Strong knowledge of software engineering methodologies and development tools
- Deep specialization in Azure Cloud–based database architecture, data platforms, and analytics solutions
- Experience modeling business processes using a variety of tools and techniques
- Strong knowledge of designing and implementing highly available, extensible APIs
- Ability to work with various departments to facilitate orderly execution of proposed solutions
- Strong functional understanding of digital asset management through best-in-class CMS systems
- Strong functional understanding of digital asset deployment and consumption to endpoint systems
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Excellent working knowledge of project management methodology
- Proven ability to manage multiple and often conflicting demands and requirements
- Foundational knowledge of UI/UX and dashboard development
- Functional experience in AI tools is an asset
- Domain knowledge in business processes is an asset
