Environmental professional supporting H3M’s Western Canada environmental consulting projects. Conducting field assessments, reclamation, remediation, monitoring, reporting, and permitting activities.
Responsibilities
Conduct environmental site assessments, remediation, and reclamation activities
Perform environmental monitoring and inspections
Prepare Acknowledgement of Reclamation (AOR) submissions
Assist senior team members with data collection, analysis, and interpretation
Prepare field reports and scientific documentation
Support the preparation and filing of environmental permit applications
Engage with clients and stakeholders as directed by senior staff
Maintain accurate records of field activities and observations
Support technical reports, data interpretation, and site assessments
Work under senior professionals’ guidance to ensure environmental, health, and safety compliance
Requirements
University degree or diploma in environmental science, biology, agrology, or a related field
3+ years of experience in environmental consulting or fieldwork; internships or volunteer experience welcome
Strong interest in field-based work and hands-on environmental assessments
Ability to work in remote and challenging field conditions
Strong attention to detail and ability to document and report field observations
Basic understanding of environmental regulations in Alberta and Saskatchewan is an asset, but not required
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Willingness to learn from senior team members
Ability to work well in a team environment and independently when required
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of field equipment
Ability to perform frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and repetitive manual tasks
Ability to walk long distances over uneven terrain while carrying gear
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to drive long distances and travel frequently to remote sites
Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights as required by projects
Ability to wear required PPE, including respirators, for extended periods
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended hours
Understanding of Alberta, British Columbia, and Saskatchewan environmental regulations
Understanding of the oil and gas market and regulatory framework
