- Health, Safety & Wellness Specialist developing and implementing programs for the City of Hamilton. Providing guidance and training on occupational health and safety matters while ensuring compliance.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for health, safety, and wellness program development and implementation
- Provide technical guidance and training on health and safety hazards
- Collaborate with departments for effective program implementation
- Conduct audits and assessments to identify workplace health and safety issues
- Collect, analyze, and report on occupational health, safety, and wellness data
- Deliver education and training programs
Requirements
- Post-secondary education or certificate in occupational health and safety
- Extensive years of experience driving results in occupational health and safety
- Experience in a municipal, health care or community service organization preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge in delivering high quality services to client groups
- Experience conducting ergonomic assessments preferred
- Demonstrated consultation and auditing skills at all organizational levels
- Extensive experience leading program development
- Knowledge of employment and related legislation
