About the role
- Warehouse Technician receiving, storing, tracking, and shipping materials for Sandvik Mining mine sites. Supporting safe warehouse operations on a two-weeks-on/two-weeks-off rotation.
Responsibilities
- Receive, inspect and audit incoming materials to ensure inventory records are accurate
- Coordinate the safe storage and timely shipment of materials in accordance with established procedures
- Prepare shipping and receiving schedules
- Maintain effective operating procedures, space utilization, facilities and equipment
- Process sales orders and invoices accurately
- Update and maintain warehouse location and computerized inventory systems
- Support customer on-call services as required
- Perform other duties supporting safe and efficient warehouse operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one (1) year of warehouse or inventory experience
- Previous experience in mining operations is an asset but is not required
- Experience operating a forklift is required
- Experience using computerized inventory management systems
- Ability to work independently and as part of an integrated team
- Detail-oriented with good time management and organizational skills
- Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Valid driver's licence in good standing
- Comply with Sandvik safety policies and applicable government, customer, and industry regulations or requirements
- Identify and report unsafe work habits, workplace incidents, and near misses
- Perform risk assessments (Take Five) before each task
- Maintain an orderly work area and ensure housekeeping requirements are met
- Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related training
- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned for each task
