About the role

  • Technical Sales Representative expanding Davis Controls’ Canadian automation and process markets. Developing customers, technical solutions, pipelines, and revenue across the sales territory.

Responsibilities

  • Drive revenue growth and expand Davis Controls Ltd.’s presence within Canadian automation and process markets.
  • Identify new business opportunities and develop and strengthen customer relationships.
  • Deliver tailored solutions that support client needs and enhance customer experience.
  • Develop and execute strategic sales and growth plans across the product and solution portfolio.
  • Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across targeted industries.
  • Follow up on proposals, quotations, and sales opportunities to drive conversion and revenue growth.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline and provide accurate forecasting of bookings and revenue.
  • Expand market share within existing accounts while developing new customer relationships.
  • Respond to customer order reminders and proactively manage project timelines.
  • Provide technical guidance on system sizing, product selection, and application suitability.
  • Assist with project documentation, including submittals, drawings, specifications, and compliance documentation.
  • Maintain organized records of opportunities, customer interactions, and project progress within CRM systems.
  • Work closely with Sales and Service Team Members to provide reliable and quality customer service.
  • Communicate with management regarding pipeline development, sales performance, market trends, and strategic growth opportunities.
  • Share customer insights, competitive intelligence, and best practices to support continuous improvement and business success.

Requirements

  • Postsecondary education in Mechanical Engineering Technology, Instrumentation, Process Automation, or a related technical discipline; an equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of progressive business development, technical sales, or account management experience within industrial process industries and customers.
  • Proven track record of developing new business, growing market share, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required to support customers and business growth initiatives.
  • Favorable driver’s abstract.
  • Excellent business development, prospecting, and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong consultative selling and negotiation capabilities.
  • Solid technical aptitude with the ability to understand and communicate product features, system solutions, and application requirements.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities effectively.
  • Effective proposal preparation, project follow-up, and documentation skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales reporting tools.
