About the role
- Clinical Educator helping patients and healthcare professionals adopt Type 1 diabetes technologies. Field-based role supporting clinics across British Columbia and Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Educate and support patients in the use of diabetes management technologies, including insulin delivery solutions
- Provide personalized follow-up, education and ongoing support to users
- Train and educate healthcare professionals on available technologies and solutions
- Partner with endocrinologists, diabetes nurses, dietitians and other healthcare professionals to optimize the patient experience
- Support the adoption of clinical best practices in Type 1 diabetes management
- Build strong relationships with diabetes clinics and healthcare professionals across the territory
- Stay current on developments in diabetes care, insulin delivery and diabetes technology
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Nutrition/Dietetics, or another relevant healthcare discipline
- Registered and in good standing with the appropriate professional regulatory body in British Columbia or Alberta
- At least 1 year of experience working with Type 1 diabetes, ideally within a diabetes clinic or a diabetes-focused clinical role
- Strong knowledge of diabetes management and patient education
- Experience with insulin pumps, CGM and/or automated insulin delivery technologies is highly desirable
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) designation is an asset
- Excellent communication, presentation and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working independently and engaging with patients and healthcare professionals across a territory
