About the role

  • Claims Manager leading auto insurance operations, performance, and teams for Intact. Managing workflows, financial results, claims strategy, and technical training across Canadian locations.

Responsibilities

  • Drive performance and efficiency by proactively managing workflows and resources to exceed regional goals and enhance customer satisfaction
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategic business plans while overseeing day-to-day operations
  • Oversee and report monthly on financial performance and productivity
  • Develop and implement strategies for loss containment, salvage and subrogation returns, process enhancements, and technology improvements
  • Lead staff through engagement, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and ongoing learning and career development
  • Advise on claim matters, policy interpretation, and settlement negotiation
  • Maintain relationships with vendors, service providers, centers of excellence, and internal client groups
  • Oversee the Technical Training Team responsible for IFR, CFR, and team training

Requirements

  • University degree or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role
  • At least two years of experience in a management role
  • Technical knowledge in Auto Appraisal and experience with Service Centre models is an asset
  • Demonstrated expertise in leading Claims teams
  • Auto Physical Damage line of business exposure is an asset
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in coaching and developing team members
  • Strong leadership capabilities and a proven track record of driving performance within multiple lines of business
  • Ability to adapt and collaborate across lines of business while handling shifting priorities and taking ownership of tasks
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Must be eligible to work in Canada from the anticipated start date and throughout employment
  • Must maintain work eligibility in Canada
