About the role
- Managing medical and emergency response operations at a remote industrial site for International SOS. Leading teams, client delivery, compliance, quality, equipment, and emergency preparedness.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic oversight and daily delivery of medical and emergency response services
- Lead, coordinate, and manage medical services, equipment, facilities, and site staff
- Act as primary liaison between International SOS, the client, and site stakeholders
- Ensure contractual compliance, regulatory compliance, and alignment with company and client standards
- Manage subcontracted service provider performance and deliverables
- Prepare site reports and budgets
- Develop and implement multi-divisional training exercises
- Assist with staff planning, recruitment, performance assessment, and development
- Escalate issues that may jeopardize site/client relationships to the VP Operations
- Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings with site teams, subcontractors, clients, and the Medical Services Centre
- Support Occupational Injury & Illness documentation and reporting
- Oversee staff roles, KPIs, safety requirements, induction, training, timesheets, rosters, payroll support, and performance management
- Serve as on-site contract lead and primary client contact
- Oversee patient records management and operational documentation
- Maintain inventories, stock control, accounting, and administrative records
- Apply the L3 Quality Management System and participate in audits, quality and safety calls, and continuous improvement
- Prepare and implement Plans of Action following audits, including closing P0 and P1 Hydra findings
- Manage client feedback and non-clinical incidents in Hydra
- Schedule maintenance of medical apparatus, equipment, and facilities
- Review variance reports, operational costs, and unexplained usage or cost increases
- Undertake project work and other reasonable duties requested by the VP Operations
Requirements
- Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Ability to analyze situations and take decisive action consistent with company policies, client requirements, and regulatory standards
- Proven customer/client relationship management skills
- In-depth knowledge of fire/rescue and medical service delivery, emergency preparedness, and incident management
- Strong understanding of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices, including NFPA and OH&S
- Strong computer skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and SharePoint
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to lead, motivate, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams in routine and emergency situations
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in service delivery at a management level within the medical or emergency services sector
- At least 5 years’ experience at an officer or senior level
- Experience in operations management and oversight of multidisciplinary teams
- Track record of successful change management and process improvement initiatives
- Experience in remote, industrial, or high-risk environments is an asset
- Valid first aid/CPR certification
- Advanced medical certification(s) considered an asset
- Strong knowledge of Alberta workplace health, safety, and emergency preparedness regulatory requirements
- Valid driver’s licence
