About the role

  • Directeur de comptes principal pilotant le redressement, le recouvrement et l’insolvabilité d’entreprises québécoises chez Investissement Québec. Gestion de dossiers complexes, structures financières et procédures judiciaires.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement customized turnaround plans
  • Lead complex files and align stakeholders with competing interests
  • Develop and negotiate financing structures tailored to each situation
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for distressed businesses and recommend financial solutions
  • Produce strategic analyses to support senior management and government decision-making
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of financial interventions
  • Oversee the recovery of receivables and the realization of security interests
  • Assess risks, determine liquidation strategies, maximize fund recovery and minimize losses
  • Collaborate with lawyers, receivers and trustees to enforce the Corporation’s rights
  • Provide strategic advice to internal business units on sensitive files
  • Represent the Corporation before the courts in major cases
  • Diagnose financial situations, assess collateral and anticipate potential losses
  • Establish a comprehensive profile of the business, including its financial viability, the value of its security interests, risks and potential losses
  • Define turnaround or realization strategies with the stakeholders involved
  • Bring matters before the courts and represent the Corporation in legal proceedings

Requirements

  • University degree in finance, business administration, accounting, law or another related field
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant professional experience
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in turnaround and insolvency
  • Knowledge of financial analysis techniques, security interests and standard financing practices
  • Knowledge of the processes and roles of the various stakeholders involved in asset realization
  • Knowledge of the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act
  • Knowledge of the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act (CCAA)
  • Knowledge of remedies available under the Civil Code of Québec
  • Valid driver’s licence
  • Willingness to travel within Quebec
  • Fluency in spoken and written French and English
