About the role

  • QA Automation Analyst building automated test frameworks for JD Power, a provider of automotive data and intelligence. Validating software through automated UI, API, integration, system, and acceptance testing.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design, execute, and maintain software test suites across the Software Testing Lifecycle
  • Develop a detailed technical understanding of client needs and project requirements
  • Review and provide feedback for Software Requirements Specifications with Solution Analysts
  • Contribute to Software Test Plans defining testing scope, objectives, and approach
  • Collaborate with technical stakeholders to create detailed work package estimates
  • Develop and execute integration, system, and acceptance-level automated tests
  • Create and review software testing defect, progress, and summary reports
  • Investigate and triage software defects for assigned projects
  • Build and maintain comprehensive automated test frameworks
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance Team Lead to define and implement testing best practices

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • 3+ years of experience developing automated tests using Selenium, Cucumber, Playwright, REST Assured, Java, or JUnit
  • 3+ years of experience integrating automated tests into continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
  • Experience writing basic SQL data retrieval queries using joins
  • Experience with web servers such as Apache HTTP Server or NGINX
  • Experience with version control software such as Git or Perforce
  • Experience with API testing of RESTful and SOAP-based web services using Postman, SoapUI, or other API testing frameworks
  • Experience with build tools such as Maven, Ant, or Gradle
  • Experience with continuous integration tools such as Jenkins or TeamCity
  • Detailed knowledge of all phases in the Software Testing Lifecycle
  • Experience designing and executing test suites for unit, integration, system, and acceptance test levels
  • Experience with software development languages, mainly Java
  • Familiarity with TypeScript for Playwright
  • Familiarity with service-oriented architecture and design principles
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational database design
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with AI/LLM-based tools and models for test planning, test generation, and QA efficiency
