About the role
- AI Product Engineer building next-generation chatbot, voicebot, and workflow automation for Jerry.ai’s AI-powered insurance platform. Shipping LLM systems that manage customers’ physical assets.
Responsibilities
- Set the technical bar for chatbot systems and shape the prompt engineering team's future work
- Maintain sound chatbot architecture as it scales
- Build automations for record disputes, email/callout reduction, and document validation
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies such as voicebots and computer-use agents
- Decide which technologies to invest in next
- Build and ship AI systems to production
- Partner with OpenAI to evaluate and deploy next-generation voice models and workflow automation
- Build the next-generation AI system for insurance quoting, document validation, stateful phone interactions, and direct navigation of external insurance systems
Requirements
- 5+ years in software engineering
- Experience ideally at an early-stage startup with end-to-end ownership
- Hands-on depth with AI and ability to build with newly released models
- Ability to explain why one AI architecture or approach is superior to another
- Experience putting LLM-based systems into production
- Experience with evals, regressions, latency, cost, and failure-handling
- TypeScript, including Nest.js and React
- GraphQL
- AWS, including ECS/EKS and Lambda
- LLM models including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, and Google Gemini
- Must currently reside in an eligible hiring location: Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina, New Jersey, Nevada, New York, Oregon, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Ontario, Canada
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. or Canada
