About the role
- QC Assembly Inspector verifying modular cooling unit assembly, documentation, and safety compliance. Supporting Silent-Aire’s production, engineering, and continuous improvement processes in Alberta.
Responsibilities
- Verify build integrity across modular cooling units for conformity to drawings, specifications, and internal procedures
- Complete sub-assembly inspections for motor, coil, evaporator, furnace, and paint components
- Perform full-unit final inspections
- Conduct daily in-process unit inspections to verify sealing, missing parts, drawing/ODS requirements, and quality standards
- Review daily paperwork and report deficiencies to the Quality Supervisor
- Review inspection documents, verify completeness, and assemble full-unit documentation packages
- Assist inspectors and production team members with training and knowledge-sharing
- Verify drawings and marking/breaking work for accuracy
- Identify drawing discrepancies and support Engineering change markings through the ECR process
- Maintain detailed inspection records for traceability of findings, deviations, and defects
- Identify, document, and report non-conformances following the NCR procedure
- Assist with corrective actions as required
- Complete and upload inspection forms and update relevant trackers
- Perform duties according to Silent-Aire safety standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote safe-work practices
- Perform other assigned duties
Requirements
- Strong ability to read shop drawings and use measuring tools, including tape measure and fractional math
- Critical eye for defects
- Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools used in assembly
- Effective communication and time management
- Ability to work independently
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe material handling
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital photo/document tools
- Competence in Wall Sub Assembly, Roof Sub Assembly, Base Frame, Drain Pan, Bulkhead, Evap Sub, Motor Sub, Damper, Line, Final, Wrapping, Loading, and Paint
- PPE required in the commercial/industrial environment
- Physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to work the rotational day shift from 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM
