About the role

  • Quality Inspector inspecting aerospace parts and materials for Schaeffler Aerospace Canada. Performing dimensional, visual, and non-destructive testing to prescribed quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately inspect parts and/or purchased material dimensionally and visually, including non-destructive testing, to prescribed quality standards and procedures
  • Use mechanical, pneumatic, optical and electrical measuring gauge tools
  • Follow inspection protocols in applicable quality procedures
  • Perform concurring inspection demands using skill and judgment to complete assigned work
  • Read and interpret production prints and written instructions
  • Perform inspection operations, including final visual inspection
  • Set up or adjust standard gauges and equipment
  • Record routine data and count parts
  • Train new employees and other inspectors/operators as required
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and 5S in all areas

Requirements

  • Grade 12 diploma
  • Demonstrated competency at Inspector level or mechanical aptitude and/or related quality experience
  • Knowledge of quality systems/policies
  • Proficiency in standard measuring gauge tools including mechanical, pneumatic, optical and electrical devices
  • Ability to follow inspection protocols and quality procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret production prints and written instructions
  • Ability to perform inspection operations requiring skill, judgment and interpretation
  • Ability to make setups or adjustments on standard gauges or equipment
  • Meet skill requirements identified in the applicable training matrix and required certificates
  • Must be able to pass Canadian Controlled Goods Assessment and criminal background check
  • Must be compliant with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR)
